A clear plan. A better growing routine.
Start with your space, keep a record, and use what you learn to plan the next season.
1. Map your growing space
Record bed or container dimensions, access paths, water access, and areas of shade. Observe sunlight at different times of day before choosing where to place each crop.
2. Match crops to the space
Check each crop's light, spacing, temperature, and watering requirements. Group plants with similar needs, and leave room for their mature size.
3. Keep a useful journal
Record planting dates, varieties, watering, feeding, observations, and harvests. Note the actual conditions alongside each change so you can compare results over time.
4. Review before you repeat
At the end of a season, record what grew where and what struggled. Use crop-family history as one input when planning rotation, together with local conditions and crop-specific guidance.
